Legal Requirements
Digital accessibility means making websites and apps easy for everyone to use, including people with disabilities. This includes features like screen reader compatibility, captions for videos, and keyboard-friendly navigation.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) now requires state and local government, including public institutions, websites and apps to meet accessibility standards under the ADA. This means following guidelines like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure equal access to online services. Our university must comply with these rules to remove barriers and make digital resources available to all.
